Use of public transport was linked with higher cognitive scores for older people

USING a bus pass sharpens the mind. Research based on nearly 18,000 older people measured cognitive skills and memory before and after free bus travel was introduced for pensioners in 2006. Use of public transport was linked with higher scores, probably because it increased socialising and mental stimulation, say the researchers from King’s College London.
