ONCE again, we find ourselves indebted to a showbiz ‘source’ for giving us a peek behind the velvet curtain; to wit, we’ve been gifted the information that Brad Pritt and Leonardo DiCaprio like to spend their evenings making beautiful art.
The Sun newspaper got the low-down from that well-known gossip who is feared by everyone in Hollywood: A Source.
A Source goes to all the parties, hangs around dressing room doors, reads WhatsApp messages over celebrity shoulders and – adopt the brace position – might make things up and/or be on the celebrity’s pay-roll.
According to The Sun, Leo has been frequenting Brad’s sculpting studio. For a hot minute Sleb Safari thought this was code for Brad’s home gym. It’s not. An ordinary man needs a shed, but Brad Pitt is no ordinary man, Brad Pitt is an artiste and artistes needs a sculpting studio.
Over to The Sun.
"Brad’s got his own sculpting studio at his house, and Leo loves coming over to use it.
"They sometimes hang out with Brad’s artist pals, but other times it’s just the two of them. Leo brings sandwiches over from their favorite place, Fat Sal’s, and they spend their boys’ nights creating art until the early hours."
It’s sweet that they have a favourite sandwich place; after all, celebrities are known for their huge appetites and carb-heavy diets.
Sleb Safari checked the menu at Fat Sal's to see what exactly keeps Brad and Leo going back for more. There’s every chance it's the 'Fat Anthony'.
A Fat Anthony sandwich is ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, shredded lettuce, tomato, fries, vinaigrette and marinara on a hero. Since that’s a lot of food, it's shovelled into an extra wide hero.
One thing Sleb Safari would like clarification on are the chicken fingers: how have Irish chickens gotten away with hiding their fingers all this time while their American cousins are having them served up in sandwiches?
And fries in the sandwich rather than on the side? Controversial. But Sleb Safari would taste test, in the name of science.
Sleb Safari really hopes the sculpting studio scenario is exactly as it's been reported; that these two movie stars are ploughing their way through giant, meaty, dripping sandwiches while chatting about their feelings and doing a spot of clay modelling.
Perhaps there's a potter's wheel involved? Or some woodworking tools? Did Brad start Leo off on something small, like a clay ashtray? Has Leo been drawing Brad like one of his French girls?
Sleb Safari's mind is freewheeling with possibilities here and eagerly anticipates the day when these sculpting titans exhibit their late-night, sandwich-fuelled artistry.
Happy 50th Birthday Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez is a force of nature and that force of nature has turned 50. Jennifer, who has clearly been drinking the elixir of life for some time now, didn’t bother with afternoon tea or a boozy lunch with the taxi booked for 8pm.
She had a proper club night at Gloria Estefan’s estate in Miami complete with a nine-tier cake, fireworks, an indoor swing and a performance from the birthday girl.
Her (newest) fiance gifted her a red Porsche and Sleb Safari doesn’t begrudge her it one wee bit.
A Rod, the (newest) fiance, posted video from the birthday party/club night which shows J Lo headbanging and he captioned it "Tonight was a Jenny from the Block party and we took it from the Bronx all the way to the 305!!!”
