THE world's top darts stars will assemble in Belfast next week as the Premier League returns to SSE Arena.

Current World Champion and reigning Premier League winner (for the second year running) Michael van Gerwen from Holland is among those competing for the prestigious title, in the league which sees 10 stars battling it out over four months in arenas across Britain, Ireland and the Netherlands.

Fans in Belfast will get two chances to see retiring legend Phil 'The Power' Taylor when the six-time Premier League champion – also a 16-time World Champion – takes on both two-time World Champion Gary Anderson and five-time TV finalist Dave Chisnall.

Another huge contest at the SSE will see Michael van Gerwen out to avenge his only defeat so far this season when he takes on Dutch rival Raymond van Barneveld, who will be celebrating his 50th birthday in Belfast.

Other matches will include newly crowned UK Open champion Peter Wright against 2009 Premier League winner James Wade, while Chisnall doubles up against Adrian Lewis, who hit a nine-darter in last year's visit to Belfast.
