CONGRATULATIONS to Dwayne The Rock Johnson on being named People magazine’s sexiest man alive.

He earned the title because, according to the small print, he’s “sweet, smart and sculpted”. On top of that he’s also been named the highest earning actor so The Rock is having quite the year.

How on earth could you top that? Why, by running for the US presidency of course.

The Rock told People that he used to say he’d run as a joke, but “every time I got asked it was with a real genuine interest and it was very earnest”.

“And so I started to really think. Could I make a difference? Could I surround myself with really brilliant people to help me make decisions? Do I care about this country? And when the answers continued to come up yes, then I thought, there’s a good chance. Yeah, one day. Then we’ll do another interview like this.”

Guess we can all smell what The Rock’s cooking. The White House gym is going to need a refurb.

It’s tremendous that The Rock is considering running for office. He has nine films out between now and 2019 so he’d be rested and ready to start campaigning as soon as Michelle Obama is returned to the White House in 2020.

The only spanner in the works is the fierce competition he’ll face from other industry heavy-hitters.

Kanye West announced his intention to run at the end of a 13-minute speech at last year’s MTV Video Music Awards but he’ll be too busy annoying Taylor Swift to campaign.

Lindsay Lohan has flirted with the notion too but has likely forgotten about it already.

The real competition is Will Smith who is insistent that “there was no way that I was put here just to be a movie star”.

Late last year Will said that if the people want him to become their next president then he would bow to their will.

“At this point I’m elevating my ability to be useful in the world.

“As I look at the current political landscape I think there might be a future out there for me. They might need me out there. This is the first year that I’ve been incensed to a level that I can’t sleep, you know? So, I’m feeling that, at some point in the near future, I will have to lend my voice to the conversation in a somewhat different way.”

Then he spelled it out in another interview: “If people keep saying all the crazy kinds of stuff they’ve been saying on the news lately about walls and Muslims, they’re going to force me into the political arena.”

America, it seems to Sleb Safari that you have a tough decision to make. You can have a president who is sweet, smart and sculpted or you can have a president who has defeated aliens many, many times.

Give it a bit of thought next time, mmmkay?

Justin Bieber Parties Up A Storm in Prague

A HEADLINE caught Sleb Safari’s eye the other day.

“Justin Bieber parties with six girls in Prague” it said and, quite honestly, Sleb Safari is confused.

Sleb Safari once partied with four girls in Prague and no-one batted an eyelid.

Granted it was in 1998 and Facebook was only a twinkle in its daddy’s eye.

Upon further investigation it turns out that a model agency employee posted a message on Facebook asking for girls to hang out with Biebs, Canada’s best known misplacer of monkeys, after his show in the Czech capital.

Now it makes sense.

Take That And Party

AND so to Gary Barlow who was locked in the toilet of his gym when he got the news that a fan had donated £1.1 million to Children In Need to have Take That play a private show.

London businesswoman Elaine Fairfax placed the winning bid on Chris Evan's Radio 2 breakfast show and Gary couldn't quite believe it.

“No way... Oh my God... I’m very embarrassingly locked in a toilet in my gym because there’s nowhere quiet here,” he said.

“This is a charity we all love... We’ll come and sing to you, have a drink with you, have selfies, see your friends, meet your mum and dad.

“Whatever you want us to do, we’ll do it.”

Then, ominously, he added: “Try and get rid of us! You’ll be pushing us out the door by the end.”

Gary said the band hadn't performed for a competition winner in years.

“The last time we did something like this was in 1991 for Jackie magazine."

Can you imagine if it was the same person and she'd been saving up since 1991?
