GARDEN centre retailer Dobbies has begun a search for 120 full- and part-time staff for its new store at The Junction retail and leisure park in Antrim, which is due to open in October.
Gardening experts will play a key role in the day to day running of the large horticultural department within Dobbies’ biggest UK store, which is expected to attract a footfall of around a million visitors a year.
There are opportunities too for an experienced restaurant manager, assistant restaurant manager, kitchen assistant (cook), and restaurant team leader roles for its 500 seater restaurant and café.
And with a significant food hall planned for the 110,000 sq ft store, Dobbies is also on the hunt for food hall experts, with additional positions including operations experts and a trading manager.
Dobbies regional manager David Gibson said: “With fit-out now progressing well, we're thrilled to begin the recruitment process and are looking for a range of skill sets to create the best possible store team, with experts in gardening, food, restaurant delivery and operations advertised now.
“There will be further opportunities later in the year at www.careers.dobbies.com, once the management team is fully on board.”
For Dobbies, the UK’s largest garden centre retailer with 76 stores and 4,000 staff, this will be its second venture in Northern Ireland.
The Junction will showcase a rejuvenated store concept, with outdoor and indoor plant areas; areas for gardening products, outdoor furniture, pets, gifting and toys, as well as cook shop and home décor; a food hall, a children’s soft play area and new restaurant and café.
