FORMER Wrightbus managing director Neil Collins has taken over at the north’s largest plumbing and heating merchants, Bassetts.

A double all-Ireland winning goalkeeper with Down, the GAA legend joined the Ballymena bus-maker in 2021 from Austrian mobile crushing firm Rubble Master.

Mr Collins has now been named managing director of Bassetts.

His latest appointment sees him return to more familiar territory. He previously held senior roles at Glen Dimplex, where he served as northern managing director before becoming manufacturing director for Dimplex Group’s heating and ventilation division.

“I am delighted to be joining such a well-known and respected company,” he said.

“With such strong foundations already in place, I look forward to leading Bassetts through their ongoing phase of continuous growth.”

Now part of the Wolseley UK Group, Bassetts has 15 trade counters and 13-bathroom showrooms located across Northern Ireland.
