EASYJET is opening a new link from Belfast International to the Turkish holiday resort of Antalya.

The first of its twice weekly flights (Wednesdays and Saturdays) take off from Aldergrove on March 26, and the service will continue through the summer, with seats available from £37.99 one way.

The flights to Antalya are among 11 new routes that easyJet has added to its UK network for summer 2023 to some of Europe’s best beach and city destinations in Italy, France, the Netherlands and the Greek Islands, as well as Turkey.

A former major Roman port, Antalya (population 2.5m) is a Turkish resort city with a yacht-filled old Harbour and a clutch of beaches flanked by large hotels.

It is seen as a gateway to Turkey's southern Mediterranean region, known as the Turquoise Coast for its blue waters.

EasyJet’s UK country manager Ali Gayward said: “We’re delighted to announce this new route from Belfast International for the summer and to provide our customers with an even wider range of fantastic destinations to enjoy.

“We're proud to be the largest airline in Northern Ireland and remain committed to strengthening our unrivalled short-haul network and providing affordable and convenient connections for our customers across the UK, all with great value fares and the warm welcome that our crew are famous for.”

Uel Hoey, business development director at Belfast International, added: “Antalya is a pivotal addition to the overall easyJet network from Belfast International and will capitalise on the perennial popularity of Turkey as a holiday destination for Northern Ireland travellers.

“Allied to the recent addition of Rhodes, this further bolsters the reach of easyJet and easyJet holidays as they continue to grow their presence in Belfast for 2023.”
