WITH less than a week to go until the highly anticipated Institute of Directors (IoD) Women’s Leadership Conference, the business organisation has urged those without a ticket to book straight away at www.iod.com/ni.

Sponsored by Herbert Smith Freehills, the event will unite a community of inspiring and innovative leaders for two online events on March 9 and 11 to celebrate International Women’s Day.

A stellar line-up of insightful and inspirational speakers has been confirmed for the conference, now in its 14th year.

World renowned ethologist and activist Dr Jane Goodall DBE will deliver a keynote address while delegates will also hear insights from Dame Inga Beale, Lloyds of London’s first female CEO, and Khalida Popal, former Afghanistan women’s football captain and human rights activist.

The conference will incorporate both keynote speeches and panel sessions, featuring contributions from Anne Sheehan, general manager at Microsoft Ireland, Bernadette Collins, head of race strategy for the Aston Martin Cognizant F1 team; Danske Bank chief executive Vicky Davies; Dr Caoimhe Rooney NASA Postdoctoral Program Fellow, and Mairead Mackle MBE, founder and CEO of Tarasis Enterprises.

After the notable success of the 2021 event, with over 1,100 delegates tuning in, it is expected that the Women’s Leadership Conference will once again see an increased number of male attendees.

IoD NI chairman Gordon Milligan said: “The 2022 conference will feature an exceptional line-up of some truly inspiring female leaders, representing a wide variety of sectors and causes, and we are all very much looking forward to what are sure to be some hugely valuable insights.

“The conference theme for this year is ‘the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams’, which we feel is especially appropriate as we emerge from the pandemic and many leaders are beginning to focus on their future plans.

“Our annual conference provides business leaders with an invaluable opportunity to learn and connect with leaders and role models and attracts delegates from right across Northern Ireland’s sectors and industries.

“Hundreds of tickets have already been sold, and I would like to encourage anyone hoping to attend our 2022 conference to reserve their place as soon as possible.”

The popular 4k Pitch competition will also return for another year, providing four fledgling entrepreneurs with an opportunity to secure funding for their start-up business.

Associate sponsors of the conference include Danske Bank, The Open University, Translink, NIE Networks, Civica, SONI and KPMG.

The Irish News has also partnered with the IoD as official media partner for the event.
