Belfast hotel group Andras reports £17m pandemic hit

BELFAST-based hotel group Andras House has revealed its turnover during the first year of the pandemic fell by 68 per cent.

The company, whose hotel portfolio includes the Crowne Plaza and Hampton by Hilton in Belfast, said turnover dropped by £16.8 million to £7.75m for the year ending April 30 2021.

It ended the financial year with a loss of £512,317.

Andras House also owns two Ibis hotels in the city along with a Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express.

Its commercial property portfolio includes a number of office buildings, restaurants, retail outlets and health clubs.

Despite the loss, the group, headed by Rajesh Rana, said it continued to invest during the 2020-21 period, opening a new health club at the Crowne Plaza in April 2021.

It said the commercial property end of the business is almost fully let.

Andras House said it’s continuing to pursue new developments, with six live projects in the pipeline. It includes an aparthotel with offices and cafes in Belfast, with additional development planned for Portrush.
