AWARD-winning Cornwall-based Worldwide Financial Planning is planning a major expansion into Northern Ireland, its Armagh-born chief executive Peter McGahan has confirmed.

The independent financial advice firm, which has amassed a clutch of industry accolades over recent years including Investment Adviser of the Year and Mortgage Adviser of the Year form the FT, is eyeing a number of potential acquisitions across the north to extend its UK reach.

Worldwide's chief executive Peter McGahan said: “Having been hugely successful across the UK with offices in Cornwall, Southampton, Somerset and Fermanagh, our aim is now to firmly focus on expansion in Northern Ireland.

“And for this to happen, we are keen to speak directly with IFA firms who may be considering selling up.”

Mr McGahan - who has written a popular weekly personal finance column for the Irish News for two decades - added: “There are huge pressures on firms right now, with many IFAs struggling with surging insurance costs and excesses, increased regulation, compliance and so on.

“We know there are some great firms here, and very talented independent financial advisers, so we are keen to speak with those who will fit in with our brand’s values, bring new clients on board while enjoying career progression with our award winning firm.

“Our firm consists of our senior management team, our chartered financial planners, independent financial advisers, personal assistants and administration team.

“We specialise in business financial advice, ESG sustainable investing, mortgages, inheritance tax, investment, equity release, protection, long term care and retirement planning, and we have clients across the UK who know that our overall goal is to sustain, protect and grow their long term wealth.”

Mr McGahan says that acquisitions and new appointments are instrumental in making the company's expansion plans in Northern Ireland a reality.

“Worldwide Financial Planning is in a very healthy position, and we are currently undergoing a major rebrand which we will be rolling out over the next number of weeks.

“We are building on our Financial Times awards and successes which we have built up over the years. We are a firm committed to raising standards, knowledge and ethical practice.

“I am really excited to engage with firms and IFAs here in Northern Ireland as we continue to implement our growth plans.”

The company (https://www.wwfp.net) has collected 16 FT awards down the years, with the FT Adviser Editor remarking: “It is the value of honesty, integrity and empathy which have given Worldwide Financial Planning the edge over other advisers.”
