50 jobs created as Tullyglass Hotel unveils a £1.5m refurbishment

THE family-owned Tullyglass Hotel in Ballymena, one of the north’s most sought-after wedding venues, has invested £1.5 million in its Clock Tower Ballroom and is also taking on 50 new staff.

The refurbishment, carried out over the past 18 months, includes a full interior and exterior makeover of the ballroom, complete with luxurious new furnishings.

The owners have also invested in a state-of-the-art ventilation and air conditioning system, mood lighting, wedding ceremony room and a wine cellar providing an extensive menu of wines from around the world.

The spacious gardens and outdoor reception spaces have been connected into the Clock Tower Ballroom, meaning the bridal party and guests can move easily between the ballroom and gardens.

Owner Gus McConville said: “We are looking forward to our reopening on May 24 with renewed vigour and a sense of excitement for what we will bring to both the local market in terms of our hospitality offering and indeed our newly updated wedding space.

“We are also recruiting a further 50 staff which will be a major boost to the local hospitality sector in Ballymena and the local economy at large.”
