Applications open for £50,000 large business Covid grant

Applications are open until May 5 for the Large NAV Business Grant scheme, which offers a one-off payment of up to £50,000

MORE than 1,100 businesses in a wide range of sectors across the north are now able to apply online for a one-off £50,000 grant to help them recover from the impact of the pandemic.

Applications are open between now and May 5 for the Large NAV Business Grant scheme, which is being delivered by Land & Property Services.

To be eligible, a business must occupy a large commercial premises with a net annual value of over £51,000 and have qualified for 12 months rates holiday.

Manufacturing NI chief executive Stephen Kelly, said: “The commitment from finance minister Conor Murphy and the Executive to support and quickly deliver this support to manufacturers is very welcome.

“It will save jobs and allow firms to invest in their businesses as their contribution to rebuilding our economy and jobs in a post-Covid, post-Brexit world.

“And this announcement of grants being open for larger manufacturers will be quickly followed by news for SMEs, hopefully as early as next week.”

Encouraging eligible businesses to apply, Conor Murphy said: “Throughout the pandemic I have been determined to ensure that support reached as many businesses as possible.

“This new grant scheme will make available more than £50 million of financial assistance to hundreds of businesses across a wide range of sectors including childcare, retail, manufacturing, hospitality, tourism and leisure.

“Although we have started on the pathway out of restrictions, businesses are still dealing with the impacts of the pandemic.

“I hope this one-off grant will help these businesses which didn’t qualify for previous grant schemes.”
