Lisburn blinds group Mzuri makes latest acquisition

THE holding company of Decora Blind Systems in Lisburn has made its latest acquisition.

The Mzuri Group has bought Kent-based Tropical Blinds. It’s the fifth acquisition announced by the Lisburn company since the Business Growth Fund (BGF) bought a £10 million minority stake in the company in April 2020.

Tropical Blinds’ founder Martin Fells, will retire as part of the deal after 42 years at the helm.

Arron Zimmatore has been appointed managing director, with Angela Uttridge and Vicky Gayle remaining as directors.

Russell Dickson, commercial director for Mzuri, said: "Martin has made an enormous contribution to our industry throughout the last 42 years and we wish him well in his retirement.

“Bringing Arron, Angela and Vicky into the Group is a great addition to our team. They have a vast amount of experience and we know they will continue to be successful as part of Mzuri."
