WOMEN in Business is partnering with InterTradeIreland to launch a new all-island 'Voices of Leadership' virtual conference on November 5, which aims to shine a light on global leaders and hear their perspectives on effective leadership.

Speakers at the free event (running from 9.30am-12.30pm) include Sharon Thorne, global board chair of Deloitte; Alyse Nelson, president and CEO of Vital Voices Global Partnership; and award-winning businesswoman and broadcaster Norah Casey.

Also presenting will be the only two female chief executives featured in the Top 100 business list in Northern Ireland - Elaine Birchall (SHS Group) and Sara Venning (NI Water).

Women in Business chief executive Roseann Kelly said: “The effectiveness of female leaders in handling the Covid-19 crisis is widely recognised as being overwhelmingly positive, with evidence showing that outcomes are systematically better in countries led by women.

“We're excited about exploring the characteristics of a true leader, learning from inspiring female trail-blazers while encouraging businesswomen to continue to make a difference in the workplace.”

Margaret Hearty, director of business services at InterTradeIreland said: “Events such as these are all about empowering entrepreneurial women to realise their potential, which dovetails in every respect with our core mission to support innovative and progressive businesses across the island.”

The conference sees the first all Island wide collaboration of networks partnering together including key partner IntertradeIreland and supporters CBI, Network Ireland, FSB, Lean in Ireland: Women’s Inspire Network, Planet Woman, Evolve,Women in Enterprise and MAW Network.
