THE hotel group behind the Galgorm Resort has unveiled the latest addition to its expanding hospitality portfolio.

The Galgorm Collection acquired the Templeton Hotel in Templepatrick last year, announcing a £7 million investment plan to transform the Co Antrim venue.

The Rabbit bar and restaurant opens on Friday (July 17) following a £2.5m refurbishment, the first stage of the transformation plan.

The group said extensive refurbishment work is continuing to upgrade the hotel’s 24 guest rooms and develop a new outdoor spa offering, due to open later this year.

With a menu inspired by the American deep south, the new bar and restaurant seats up to 180, with a large outdoor terrace designated for al fresco dining, offering views of the property’s newly installed garden.

Galgorm Collection Managing Director, Colin Johnston, said the upgrade works originally commence in October last year.

“It represents a significant investment in the local economy, cementing our longstanding commitment to support and grow our tourism industry,” he said.

The company recently invested £1.5m in Belfast-based restaurants’ Fratelli & Café Parisien. In 2018, the group bought and refurbished the Castle Kitchen and Bar at Galgorm Castle Golf Club at a cost of £600,000.

“With more people holidaying at home, The Rabbit bar and restaurant provides a new and exciting hospitality experience – and it’s just in time for summer,” continued Mr Johnston.

“We’re excited to reveal The Rabbit’s new name and announce plans for its full opening later this year.

“While work continues on preparations for the hotel’s accommodation and spa area, it’s fantastic to be able to unlock the doors to The Rabbit bar and restaurant and welcome locals and visitors alike.

“With full safety measures in place and an unrivalled, fresh new offering, The Rabbit is the perfect place for reuniting with loved ones and enjoying memorable new experiences.”
