CONSULTANY firm Bennett Robertson Design has appointed Cormac Freehill as new managing director, and the business will rebrand and trade as Bennett Freehill.

It will provide consultancy services to the mechanical, electrical and public health engineering industry, focusing on project management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and sustainable design.

A building services engineer with over 15 years’ experience working with some of the UK’s foremost engineering companies, Cormac will lead the existing staff team from offices in east Belfast.

Bennett Freehill inherits a comprehensive portfolio of landmark projects. They include the award-winning Daera headquarters at Ballykelly; Colin Connect Transport Hub, Belfast; University of Surrey 5G Innovation Centre; 123 York Street Student Accommodation; and CDE's global headquarters in Cookstown.

From Fermanagh and a graduate of Ulster University, Cormac takes over following the death in December of founding partner Gary Bennett.

“I'm delighted to be taking the business, which has a fantastic track record of award-winning projects and an established team, into a new era under the Bennett Freehill banner,” said Cormac.

“My job will be to bring new vision, new energy and new direction to the business by building on and expanding BRD’s legacy to guarantee delivery of a forward-thinking, dynamic service for our clients.”

Gary Bennett’s son Craig and widow Beth will continue working with the business.

Craig said: “I'm delighted Cormac has decided to join us. He brings fresh energy and leadership to the team and I know everyone is keen to support his strategic vision for the business.”
