NEWRY-based cross-border accountancy practice PKF-FPM has again been listed in the Sunday Times Best Companies to Work table - the only business in Northern Ireland to achieve the status.

It is the third year running the cross-border firm has figures on the list, which recognises the very best workplace cultures in the UK.

PKF-FPM was ranked 63rd and was acknowledged with the maximum three-star accreditation "for extraordinary levels of staff engagement and empowerment across all eight factors of workplace engagement – leadership, giving something back, personal growth, wellbeing, team, fair deal, managers & company.

Johnathan Austin, founder and chief executive of Best Companies, spoke of those placed as representing "the differentiating factor between good organisations and the very best -who genuinely care for their people and their place in the world."

BBC sports presenter and BBC Breakfast anchor Dan Walker hosted the awards, which attracted applications from 700 companies and surveyed 390,000 employees.

Teresa Campbell, PKF-FPM's people & culture director, said: "Making the list in itself is an amazing honour, but to be recognised for a third consecutive year shows true commitment to our core values, culture and team focus, which is at the centre of all we do. Exceptional results start with exceptional people."

The award comes as PKF-FPM was named as finalist in three categories at the upcoming Irish Accountancy Awards - Large Practice of the Year, Employer of the Year and Young Accountant of the Year.
