ABERDEEN and Northern Ireland winger Niall McGinn is set to open his second restaurant in Belfast.

The Co Tyrone man will team up with football agent Gerry Carlile for the new pizza venture, creating 20 jobs in the city centre.

The new eatery, Pizza On The Square, will be located at the Scottish Provident building on Donegall Square West, next to Belfast City Hall.

It comes almost a decade on since the pair first collaborated the Fáilte Restaurant on the Falls Road, which opened in April 2010.

Due to open next month on November 15, the fully licenced restaurant will capable of catering for up to 60 people.

Gerry Carlile said the pair had been working in the new restaurant plan for some time.

“It is a tremendous opportunity to play a part in the burgeoning Belfast tourism market,” he said.

"To have a restaurant in one of the best-known buildings in Belfast city centre was too good a chance to pass up.

"The location is prime. The passing footfall is phenomenal and whilst it has taken a long time and a lot of work to get to this point, I’m very confident that the restaurant will be a success in the time ahead and the effort will have been worth it.”
