CO DOWN house builder has announced plans for a new £11 million development in Newtownards.

Northland Developments has unveiled proposals for 64 new homes at Tullynagardy Road in the town. The development will complement around 100 existing homes completed by the firm, within the past five years in the locality.

The planned development is a mix of detached and semi-detached homes, as well as a small number of apartments with previous planning approval

A pre-application community consultation has been launched this month ahead of the expected of a planning application to Ards and North Down Borough Council.

Northland director, Aveen Rafferty said the latest development plans are a response to strong demand for quality homes in the area.

“These plans provide us with the opportunity to continue our investment into the Newtownwards community. As our neighbourhood continues to grow, we have seen a real demand for new homes and these proposals would allow us to deliver much needed new family homes," she said.

“We look forward to building upon previous engagement within the community, with both local residents and stakeholders, as we progress with our plans for Tullynagardy Road."

“We have seen a strong demand for quality homes in the Newtownards area, and alongside Tullynagardy we have been bringing new homes to the market at Claremont and Lily Wood Lane, both in Newtownards, and begun a new development at Woburn Millisle, which we plan to reveal more detail about soon," Ms Rafferty added

The public consultation event for the development will take place on May 22 from 3pm to 7pm in the mall area of Ards Shopping Centre.
