THE site of a former children's home in Ballymena has been put up for sale.

The 1.48 acre former Ballee Home site in Hollybank Park has been put on the market for offers in excess of £350,000.

The former children’s residential home site features a two storey building across more than 11,200 sq ft, with an additional 676 sq ft of space from a detached garage and a separate storage building.

The property is adjacent to Ballee Presbyterian Church and the established residential development Hollybank Park. The sit is located 1.3 miles south of Ballymena town centre and has good transports linkes, due to its location less than one mile from the main A26 road.

Andrew Gawley, director at Lisney, who are handling the sale, expects strong interest in the excellent redevelopment opportunity.

“Whilst the building could once again be used as a residential home or even for offices, interested parties are advised to make their own enquiries into the planning potential of the site," Mr Gawley said.

“At present, the ground floor comprises a number of private offices, communal areas, kitchens, store rooms, laundry and washroom facilities whilst the first floor with the first floor facilitating residential accommodation with bedrooms and washrooms, communal areas plus two further self-contained two bedroom flats.

“On site car parking is available with secure perimeter fencing and a boiler room and fuel store located within the main building."

“Offers over £350,000 are invited for this site and we would expect interest from potential owner occupiers and developers," he added.
