NORTHERN Ireland plumbing and heating merchant, Bassetts has acquired Belfast rival V.P Jebb.

V.P Jebb, which was founded in 1958 and is located in Peters Hill, north Belfast, will retain its name and iconic shop front as the result of the deal, while all staff will be retained, including Alex Jebb who is the third generation of the Jebb family to manage the store.

Additional roles have also been created, taking the total staff number to seven.

Bassetts will undertake a significant refurbishment as part of a £500,000 investment in the branch, which will see the addition of an extended trade counter, stores area and new bathroom showroom.

The latest addition brings the total number of Bassetts outlets to 17.

Alan Wright, managing director at Bassetts, said:

“Customers can expect business as usual with the same unique welcome they’ve become accustomed to, whilst enjoying a wider product range and access to Bassetts’ award-winning network of plumbers’ merchants and bathroom showrooms, which span across all counties in Northern Ireland.”
