INSTIL in Belfast, a provider of bespoke software solutions and training services, is to collaborate with an Australian-based company whose software is used in a range of enterprises from medicine and space travel to disaster response and pizza deliveries.

It has struck the deal with global software giants Atlassian Corporation, which will see it working on the Aussies' core product suite, including everyday products like Jira Software and Confluence.

And the move will lead to the creation of a number of software engineering roles in Belfast, for which recruitment has already begun.

Instil, founded in 2005, specialises in the creation of bespoke software solutions and training and is known for its culture of engineering excellence and high performing teams, which resonates strongly with the company values of Atlassian.

Tara Simpson, chief executive of Instil, said: “ We're thrilled to partner with a forward-thinking and innovative company like Atlassian.

"Internally we use these core products for our own business use and to be able to work on them collaboratively and reap the benefits ourselves, as well as for our clients, is truly unique."

He added: "Engineering excellence has always been our ethos and we are confident that this partnership with Atlassian will evidently prove this from the outputs that we produce.”

Millions of users globally rely on Atlassian products every day for improving software development, project management, collaboration, and code quality.

Senior engineering manager Martin Henderson said: “We've always had a philosophy of working backwards from the customer. They are our lifeblood and our product development has always been focused in this way.

"As products grow smarter and more complex, we've had to ensure that our products continue to exceed customer expectations. We require talented software partners who also value these principles and Instil fit the bill.”

The collaboration means that Instil - which earlier this year moved to grade-A offices in Belfast's Linen Loft - will be running a Christmas recruitment campaign to hire a number of software engineers. More details at
