A US financial technology firm is to double its Belfast workforce after moving to new offices in the city.

Options, a leading private financial cloud provider for the global capital markets industry, is to create more than 100 jobs at its new base in Linen Loft on Adelaide Street.

Through the latest recruitment drive, the company, which first launched in Belfast back in 2014, will double staff numbers, with around 100 currently in place.

The Belfast office, which is recruiting for roles dedicated to technical support, engineering, cybersecurity, account management, and marketing, is the latest in a series of global expansions and follows the recent announcement of operational growth in the Asia-Pacific region.

The news also comes hot on the heels of recent investment of around $100 million secured by the company from New York private equity fund, Bregal Sagemount.

Options chief operating officer, Danny Moore believes the new Belfast base will help transform the financial technology sector in Northern Ireland.

“As well as providing greater opportunity for Belfast’s dynamic and highly educated workforce, the growth of our Belfast operations will help deliver critical support, sophisticated engineering and secure managed services to Options’ global client base," he said.

"We are delighted to be part of Belfast’s rapidly expanding financial technology hub and are confident that the breadth of local talent, both technical and non-technical, will ensure our new headquarters, state of the art training facilities and technology resources are an integral part of our mission to transform the sector.”

Options head of account management, Stephen Morrow added:

“From outstanding industry expertise to computer science and engineering talent, Belfast has been instrumental in the development of our business in recent years. In what is a period of vast innovation and global expansion for Options, the opening of our new offices in Adelaide Street will ensure Options continues to raise the bar for service excellence and cement the next phase of growth for the firm.”

Options provides managed services and infrastructure products to leading hedge funds, global investment banks, private equity firms and exchanges.

In addition to the Belfast base, the company has offices in London and New York and currently employs over 250 staff globally.
