Hagan Homes to build 2,000 new houses in next 10 years as part of £300m development programme

BALLYCLARE-based Hagan Homes says it plans build 2,000 new houses in the next decade as part of an ambitious £300 million development programme which will create and sustain hundreds of jobs in the north's construction sector.

The announcement by Northern Ireland’s largest home-builder came as part of celebrations to mark its 30th anniversary.

Chairman and founder James Hagan said: "We have constructed more than 4,000 homes since we were established, and intend to build approximately 200 more units each year for the next 10 years."

New sites planned for development include The Rose Garden, Derriaghy; Shimna Mile, Newcastle; Ballyoran House, Dundonald; Lawnbrook Avenue, Belfast; Old Dundonald Road, Dundonald; Utility Street, Belfast; Gaffiken Street, Belfast; Burn Road, Coleraine; Charlotte Street, Ballymoney; Enler Village, Comber; Ballyveigh, Antrim; and Thaxton Village, Lisburn.

He added: "Our success, despite a turbulent operating environment, is an indication that the Hagan Homes offering, in terms of specification of build, is exactly what our customers want.

“We build affordable, quality, stylish homes by appointing award-winning architects, interior designers and craftspeople. Our homes reflect the needs of the modern-day family and are designed to cater for changing needs as families grow.”

Hagan Homes (www.haganhomes.co.uk) was created in 1988 by James Hagan with the assistance of his brother-in-law Nigel Simpson, originally aimed at building units for the first-time buyer and downsizing market, an ethos which still remains at the company.
