A TRADE delegation from the US city of Philadelphia has visited Belfast as part of a five city tour of the UK and Ireland.

While in Belfast, the delegation was welcomed in the Ulster Bank Entrepreneur Accelerator, where they had the opportunity to meet staff and businesses connected with the programme.

John Ferris, entrepreneur development manager gave the delegation an overview of the Accelerator programme which works in cities across the UK to help businesses start, scale and succeed, before giving a short tour of the hub. The delegation also met with a number of entrepreneurs who are part of the current intake and who have a specific interest in trading with the US, including Liam Brogan, Ireland Craft Beers, and Brendan Carty, Killowen Distillery.

After the tour, the group said they were impressed by the dynamic entrepreneurs they met on the visit to the accelerator and hopeful that many could begin trading relationships with businesses in their native city of Philadelphia.
