THE only hotel in Cushendall village, the 13-bedroom Glens Hotel, is back on the open market, it has emerged.

It was put up for sale late last year, but a deal feel through before completion.

Closed at present due the owner's retirement, the sale offers a unique opportunity for someone wanting to acquire a mid-sized family run hotel with room for extension and set in a superb location to catch passing trade on the world famous Antrim coast road.

Set on a prominent corner site in the centre of the village on the A2 Coast Road between Glenariffe and Cushendun, about 40 minutes from Belfast, the Glens Hotel also boasts a 250-capacity function room.

"This is an extensive detached building mainly over three levels with an extension to the rear over ground and lower ground," a spokesman for selling agents Daniel McAlister & Son (www.danielmcalisterandson.com), said.

"The building is of traditional construction covered with a pitched slate roof to the front and a flat roof covering to the rear.

"Internally the building provides and open reception area, restaurant, bar, patio overlooking neighbouring golf course, kitchen and function areas on the ground floor, the lower ground contains the service areas and the two upper floors contain the 13 en-suite bedrooms."

She added: "The hotel is decorated to a good standard throughout. Externally it provides its own car park area with access to the rear for servicing the business."
