DRINKS brand Boost has made its own piece of 'pop' history by currently occupying the top three positions in the convenience sector’s soft drink sales charts, according to official data.

For the first time since its launch 15 years ago, three separate Boost products (Boost Energy, Boost Energy Red Berry and Boost Energy Sugar Free) head the volume sales list covering the 52 weeks to April 22, selling more than 10 million units combined across Northern Ireland’s 1,100-plus independent retailers.

And Boost Energy founder and managing director Simon Gray said that is "a remarkable achievement" to occupy the top three positions ahead of so many other household name soft drink brands.

“The success of Boost has been nothing short of phenomenal since its launch here in 2003,” he said.

“It shows that our strategy of selling Boost exclusively in local independent retail stores and not the big supermarket chains has been the right one for us.

“We are committed to supporting the local home-grown independent retailers who have helped make Boost the huge success in Northern Ireland that it is today.”

Earlier this year Boost confirmed an exclusive five-year distribution deal with County Antrim-based company Hardy Sales and Marketing (HSMNI) which will provide warehousing, distribution, van sales and key account management across all the major symbol, cash & carry and delivered wholesalers within the convenience and food service sector.
