THE head of the Northern Ireland Civil Service is to address business leaders in the north west at the invitation of Londonderry Chamber of Commerce.

David Sterling, who leads around 23,500 civil servants and is also permanent secretary of the Executive Office and secretary to the Northern Ireland Executive, will be the guest speaker at a Chamber lunch in Derry next week.

The Chamber event will take place in Bishop's Gate Hotel on Wednesday, April 18, from 12.30pm to 2pm.

Chamber president, Jennifer McKeever, said: “In the absence of a First Minister and deputy First Minister, Mr. Sterling is the most senior policy driver and we look forward to hearing his vision for Northern Ireland in the current climate.

“This lunchtime event is designed give local business leaders the latest insights into the prospects, challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. It’s also an excellent opportunity for business networking and discussion over lunch.”

The audience will include business owners, senior executives and others with a keen interest in finance and the local economy.

Chamber members can register at www.londonderrychamber.co.uk . Entry to the event is £25.00.
