CONSTRUCTION work on the £17m Erkine House development in Belfast city centre is set to be complete by February it has been revealed.

Co Down based Graham Construction has recently started work on the Chichester Street eight story mixed purpose scheme, which will comprise ground floor retail units and approximately 100,000sq ft of high end office accommodation, accomodating approximately 1,600 employees.

And as revealed first by The Irish News last year, from late 2019 HM Revenue & Customs will occupy the seven floors of office space for a period of at least 25 years.

The mixed purpose development is scheduled for handover in February 2019.

Regional managing director at Graham Construction, Jonathan Hall outlined the pride at winning the sought after contract.

“Winning this contract is a major endorsement of Graham as one of the UK’s leading construction companies. Erskine House is an iconic Belfast project and we are delighted to be playing a part in reinvigorating this city centre space.” he said.

Hillsborough-headquartered Graham Construction is Northern Ireland's largest construction company and delivers building, civil engineering and fit out projects for both public and private sector clients across the UK and Ireland. The firm, which was recently named Major Contractor of the Year at the annual UK Building Awards, is currently working on over 100 live sites across the UK and Ireland and is set to hit a record £400m worth of live construction projects in Northern Ireland.
