A DUNGANNON manufacturer has secured a new £1.3 million export deal to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

BlueMAC Manufacturing Ltd has agreed a deal with Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Waste Management Agency, its first in the lucrative UAE market.

BlueMAC specialises in the design and manufacture of cutting edge recycling systems, material recovery facilities and bespoke machinery. The latest deal will see BlueMAC’s range of separators and conveyors shipped to UAE in an initial contract valued at £1.3million. It follows a visit by the RAK buyers to Dungannon last year.

BlueMAC sales engineer, Chris Brooke said the company is delighted to secure the contract.

“We are very much looking forward to continuing to develop relationships in the Middle East which will be vital to our future exporting successes in this market.”

Invest NI has offered BlueMAC support of £140,000 towards R&D and marketing activities. The R&D support will assist the company to develop waste separation equipment which it hopes to sell in international markets.

Speaking from the Waste Management Agency’s premises in UAE whilst on a visit programme to the Middle East, Invest NI chief executive Alastair Hamilton said:

"Growing exports is central to our strategy. Exporting ensures businesses are able to grow, which in turn supports and strengthens our economy. Through our extensive trade programme and inward buyer visits we are proactively helping local companies to access new markets and reach new customers."

During his trip, Mr Hamilton is visiting Saudi Arabia and UAE for a series of business meetings with potential investors and supporting export trade development.

RAK Waste Management Agency is the government body responsible for waste collection, recycling and treatment for the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates.
