A CO Antrim fit-out firm is putting the final touches on the new Belfast headquarters of Danske Bank.

Carrickfergus company McCue Crafted Fit is in the latter stages of the major contract to provide a complete office and retail fit out of the bank's Donegall Square West premises.

In collaboration with Todd Architects and design company 1080 the 16-week turnaround has included office space and an entirely new front entrance for employees with a new staff access location – designed to greatly improve efficiency for staff on entering the building. The fit out further segments the internal layout of the ground floor by separating the delivery area.

McCue managing director Les McCracken said the work at the listed building was a significant milestone for the company.

"It draws upon both our office and retail fit out experience as well as highlighting our ability to fit out in a live environment; ensuring staff remained productive with minimal disruption whilst works were carried out. We wanted to respect the building, as it is a classic example of early 1970s brutalist architecture, but bring it up to date internally."

McCue provided complete office fit out of the ground, mezzanine, first and fifth floors in the building, including reassigning the ground floor space for each of the Danske Bank internal departments.

Just last month it was announced that professional services firm Grant Thornton was to take over the third floor of Danske Bank's headqaurters from November. The tenancy agreement came after the bank announced last year plans to let two floor of the landmark premises, which was built in 1970 and became a listed building in 2016.
