A CHURCH in Dublin is to host a traditional music session this weekend featuring poetry read by actor Stephen Rea.

Newman University Church on St Stephen's Green will host the BAFTA winner and Oscar nominee as he reads the work of other famous northerners, including Seamus Heaney and John Montague.

Mr Rea will be joined by Mark Redmond on the Uileann pipes and Anne-Marie O'Farrell on the Irish harp.

The event takes place after 6.15pm Mass on Sunday October 22. Entry is free.
