THE Ulster Orchestra's 2018/19 Pops Series will get under way with the return of its popular I Love The Movies! night at Belfast's Waterfront Hall. On Saturday October 27 I Love The Movies! will feature musical moments from film favourites such as Jaws, Psycho, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter and Indiana Jones.
The Ulster Orchestra's Burns Night concert on Saturday January 19 will offer an evening of jigs, reels and the poetry of Robert Burns, while on Saturday March 16 guests and soloists will join the orchestra for a St Patrick's weekend celebration of Irish Music featuring folk favourites and traditional airs, plus a few surprises.
On Saturday April 27, the orchestra will provide a musical salute to the 1980s with a 'mixtape' style selection of songs by some of the decade's biggest artists including Queen, Bonnie Tyler and The Weathergirls, before the Pops Series concludes on Saturday May 11 with a night of country classics old and new.
