THE Mount Stewart Conversations Festival will return on September 1 and 2 this year. The annual festival celebrating "arts, literature, music and big ideas" is taking the theme 'Women in Power' for 2018, marking 100 years since women were granted the right to vote, with the Co Down venue offering free entry to its grounds all weekend.

Promising visitors debates, performances and talks on an array of subjects, the new Converations programme will be announced soon.

Programmer Adam Turkington of Seedhead Arts says: "This festival is an opportunity for people of all ages to join the debate and talk about the things that really matter to us.

"Now, more than ever, we need conversations to be universal and we need people to come and listen but most of all, to contribute. We are excited to encourage guests to debate, challenge and rethink their conversations."

"Last year’s festival was a roaring success where we welcomed TV personalities, journalists, academics and performers," says Jon Kerr, general manager at Mount Stewart.

"We are very much looking forward to hosting the 2018 festival this September."
