SHOULD-have-been huge US rockers Warrior Soul play their only Irish show of the year tomorrow night at the Diamond Rock Club in Ahoghill.

The Kory Clarke-fronted punk-metallers will be kicking off their latest jaunt around Britain and Ireland at the Co Antrim venue, which hosted a memorable Warrior Soul show back in 2011 – only the New York-bred band's second ever Irish headlining appearance, in fact.

Clarke and co clearly enjoyed themselves because they've made their next stop at the Diamond their sole Irish engagement of the current tour.

As if you didn't already know, Warrior Soul released released a trio of LPs on Geffen during the 90s, beginning with their classic 1990 debut Last Decade Dead Century.

Having initially split in 1995 in the wake of independently released gem The Space Age Playboys, Clarke revived the WS name in 2007 and has been cranking out angry acid punk records ever since: Destroy the War Machine (2008), Stiff Middle Finger (2012) and last year's acclaimed LP, Back On The Lash.

With Clarke the only constant feature of the band's live set-up (and indeed the 'band' itself) over the past decade, the current touring line-up now features some Irish blood in ex-Peppermoth, Chicane and Degrassi drummer extraordinaire (and sometime solo artist) Michael Branagh.

Support on the night comes from Co Antrim metallers Conjuring Fate.
