RENOWNED pianist and composer Nils Frahm brings his All Melody tour to Belfast on Tuesday night, courtesy of local promoters Strange Victory.

The Mandela Hall show at Queen's University Belfast will follow a stop at Dublin's National Concert Hall on February 26 on a run of worldwide dates which mark the Berlin-based musician's return to the stage after a three year-long live hiatus.

Composing and producing from his studio base at Berlin's Funkhaus, Frahm's unconventional, technology-enhanced approach to the piano and his epic stage performances have won him fans around the world over the past decade.

The All Melody tour finds the Hamburger reconnecting with his followers in intimate venues by performing a set of brand new material from his current record, also titled All Melody.

"I’m not trying to spin a big narrative around this album because I wanted the contrast of it just being the record; why would there need to be a story behind it?" he told The Line of Best Fit.

"The tracks will tell you everything, basically. This record is so important for me, and it was so hard to make that I didn’t really want to waste any words or ideas on it other than… just listen to it and realise it was all made with real things and it was a puzzle to put together."

Perhaps experiencing it live will prove particularly illuminating.
