FOLLOWING his recent run of sold-out dates in the wake of acclaimed debut solo album Spooky Action, former Mansun frontman Paul Draper is hitting the road again in 2018 – including visits to Dublin and Belfast.

Draper will be playing two sets at his upcoming dates at Dublin's Workman's Club on February 23 and The Limelight 2 in Belfast on February 24: after opening with a selection of solo tracks, the singer/guitarist will get to the real gold in the form of a run through Mansun's classic 1997 debut LP Attack of The Grey Lantern in its entirety.

Indeed, there's more good news for fans still mourning the demise of the cult Chester indie-progsters: the entire Mansun back catalogue has now been acquired by the singer/guitarist's current label Kscope, with all three of band's albums now being completely overhauled for re-release as 'super deluxe' re-issues.

As for that full-on Mansun reformation you've been praying for? Don't hold your breath:

"I defer to how Paul McCartney refers to the end of the Beatles: 'it all got a bit heavy there now'," Draper told the Pennyblack music website a couple of months ago.

"I think that me and Andy [Rathbone, Mansun drummer] have always thought if there's something worth doing either artistically or creatively – or if there's s***-loads of money – we'd consider it.

"But that's not on the cards as Dominic Chad [Mansun guitar genius] doesn't want to do it."

Best make the most of these solo shows, then.
