FOLLOWING their triumphantly received live shows earlier this year, Jeff Lynne’s ELO have just announced 10 more arena dates for 2018 – including two Irish appearances.
Known for their distinctive post-Beatles blend of rock, pop and classical influences, ELO amassed a formidable arsenal of 26 Top 40 singles during the 1970s and 1980s including Mr Blue Sky, Livin' Thing, Telephone Line, Don't Bring Me Down and Evil Woman.
Not content with selling over 50 million records worldwide, epic live performances have also long been part of the band's appeal: for proof, look no further than the new live DVD Wembley Or Bust (released today), which captures the band's hit-studded show in front of a sell-out 60,000 crowd at Wembley Stadium on June 24 in full multi-camera glory.
Now Irish fans can remind themselves what ELO are all about at next year's dates, which will find the band calling at Dublin's 3Arena on October 25 and Belfast's SSE Arena on October 26.
Looking ahead to the new shows, Mr Lynne said: "Our audiences are amazing. It's like they’re in the group. We can't wait to play for them again."
