‘IRELAND’S biggest community arts festival’, Féile an Phobail is back and 2017 brings an exciting line-up. The August Féile returns to west Belfast showcasing over 200 events across 30 different venues. Headlined by reggae stars UB40, the festival will take place from Thursday August 3 to Sunday August 13.

Speaking at the launch of this year’s Féile, director Kevin Gamble said: “Today is the start of the countdown to the biggest party in Belfast with a whole range of art forms including music concerts, dramas, debates, tours and family fun."

UB40, who sold out their Féile concert in Belfast two years ago, will perform at Falls Park on August 11.

Other festival highlights include Altan, acclaimed poet Holly McNish, and West Belfast Talks Back, which will feature Michelle O’Neill on August 9.

Beirut-based Middle East correspondent Robert Fisk returns to Belfast for the Féile to discuss ‘Good Guys, Bad Guys and Civil War’ while Brassneck theatre are back with performances of Belfast man Pearse Elliott's play The Holy, Holy Bus.
