Get your tickets: The Bonnevilles and James Leg at The Empire, Belfast, May 3
LURGAN/Banbridge scuzz blues duo The Bonnevilles have announced their first Belfast gig for ages – and it's a good un.
Not only will Andy McGibbon Jr and Chris McMullan be kicking out the jams in their now well established manner – see last year's excellent album Arrow Pierce My Heart for details – they are also supplying two quality supporting turns to get our juices flowing.
Belfast's own garage rock and roll stars The Groundlings will be opening the show in a suitably raucous and groovy manner, before The Bonnevilles' Alive Naturalsound labelmate James Leg starts pounding his organ while belting out the gloriously melodic gravel-voiced and gospel-infused sounds he's made his name with.
The Empire gig is actually the first date of a full tour for The Bonnevilles and Mr Leg, who will then hit the road for more Irish dates in Cork (May 4), Dublin (May 5), Letterkenny (May 6) and Portrush (May 7) before embarking on a run of English shows.
Let's give them a good send off.
