JOHN BISHOP loves Ireland – well, he must do, as the top Scouse stand-up will be embarking upon an unusually extensive 16-date Irish tour later this year.

The Winging It tour will take Bishop to eight different counties during a two-week spell in September and October, culminating with a pair of Belfast dates at SSE Arena (October 4 and 5) and a trio of shows at Dublin's Arena (October 6, 7 and 8).

Prior to those, the comedian will perform sold-out gigs in counties Cork, Limerick, Clare, Galway and Leitrim, with a new date at The Millennium Forum in Derry on October 3 just added.

"The chance to see parts of Ireland I have never seen before and return to venues I have played in the past was too good an opportunity to miss," enthuses Bishop, who last toured three years ago.

"I'm very much looking forward to getting back on the road – there really is nothing like performing stand-up in front of a live audience."

With so many dates already sold out, anyone wanting to be part of his Irish audience had better get their tickets now.

:: Derry tickets on sale at 9am today via Millenniumforum.co.uk, priced £30.50. Belfast and Dublin tickets available via Ticketmaster outlets.
