Slomatics album launch, Saturday October 15, Voodoo, Belfast

IF THE new Two Door Cinema Club album has somehow failed to get your heart pounding with overwhelming excitement, perhaps the release of the latest long playing low-frequency assault from Belfast crushing crew Slomatics is what's required to get your blood pumping with renewed enthusiasm.

Tomorrow night at Voodoo, the trio will launch their fifth LP, Future Echo Returns, an album packed with the finest speaker melting, sci-fi-themed, progressively-minded fuzz doom heaviousity you're likely to encounter this side of Uranus.

As with their previous record, Estron, FER is not so much an album as a full body experience when deployed at the correct volume level – and Slomatics are positively transformative when experienced live.

Tomorrow night's album launch show offers you the chance to discover this first-hand, and also offers early birds the final opportunity to pick up one of the last remaining black vinyl copies of the new record.

You'll also find one of the more unusual (and potentially life threatening) items ever to grace a merch table – specially formulated Slomatics hot sauce bearing the amusing label Future Echo Reburns.

Sniffing/snorting this stuff during their set is probably a fast-track to some sort of terrifying psychedelic psychosis, so best save it for your Sunday hangover burrito.

Admission is £5, doors open at 9pm and capable support comes courtesy of Hornets and Bosco Ramos.
