The Bronx and Torche, Wednesday May 27, The Limelight, Belfast

ONE of the more mystifying gig clashes in recent memory has just been resolved in satisfying style.

Rather than being forced to choose between rocking out with Torche at The Limelight or The Bronx in the smaller room next door, fans of these two top US-derived turns can now catch both bands in the same room with a special 'double headline' performance at The Limelight.

It makes total sense, as LA scuzz merchants The Bronx (whose excellent, Mexican-flavoured musical alter egos Mariachi El Bronx are well worth investigating) enjoy a healthy fanbase cross-over with their east coast buddies Torche.

The Floridian sludge punkers released their latest LP, Restarter, earlier this year, while The Bronx are probably overdue bringing us yet another self-titled dose of noisy thrills given that The Bronx (unofficially known as The Bronx IV) was released back in 2013.

Both bands will be playing full-strength sets following an opening set by local noiseniks Hornets: the value-packed price of just £14.50 guarantees patrons plenty of bang for their bucks.
