Louth
The smallest county in Ireland, Louth has two interesting monastery
sites Monasterboice and Mellifont and some attractive scenery
on the mountainous Cooley Peninsula, which is the setting of one
of Ireland's most famous Celtic legends, The Cattle Road of Cooley.
Because of Louth's position on the border with Northern Ireland
on the main road between the cities of Belfast and Dublin, its
two main towns, Dundalk and Drogheda are often jammed with traffic.
However, both have points of interest including the embalmed head
of Saint Oliver Plunkett in Saint Peters Catholic Church in Drogheda
and the Harp Brewery in Dundalk.
