Carlow
Carlow is the second smallest county in Ireland and is made up
mostly of rural farmland and quiet little towns. Carlow Town has
some attractions including Carlow Castle, which was unfortunately
blown up by a doctor who was using it as an asylum for his patients
and offers activities like canoeing on the River Barrow. The Blackstair
Mountains stretch across the eastern border of Carlow. The county's
best known feature is the Browne's Hill Dolmen, a megalithic tomb
with the largest dolmen capstone in Europe.
