Cappoquin - nearby Knockmealdown Mountains and scenic Blackwater Valley, salmon fishing on the River Blackwater, scenic walks along the Glenshelane River to Glenshelane Forest Park. Mount Melleray Cistercian Abbey founded in 1832 by monks expelled from a monastery in Melleray in Brittany in France is still a working monastery, which welcomes visitors and guests.

Lismore - small town at the edge of the Knockmealdown mountains, 17th century Saint Carthage's Cathedral built on the site of the important monastery and university founded by Saint Carthage in 635AD, Lismore Castle Gardens, Lismore Heritage Centre with video on local history, legends and attractions and tourist information (Tel: 058 54975).

Passage East - small town on Waterford harbour, ferry to Ballyhack in County Wexford (Tel: 051 382488)

Ring (An Rinn) - Irish speaking village in the Gaeltacht on Helvick Head overlooking Dungarvan harbour, renowned Irish language Ring College which also hosts traditional music sessions and ceili dancing, traditional music pubs

Tramore - busy seaside resort with a miles long sandy beach, amusements and arcades, and an indoor swimming pool centre Splashworld (Tel: 051 390176), accommodation, eateries, The Iron Man, a huge statue of a sailor in white and navy pointing out to sea and two massive columns erected mark Tramore Bay warning shipping following the loss of 360 lives from a ship which mistook the bay for Waterford harbour in 1816.
