LADY Macapa can remind people of her talents with victory in the Irish Stallion Farms ‘Bosra Sham’ EBF Fillies’ Stakes at Newmarket.

The William Knight-trained filly has not been since June, when beating White Witch with some aplomb on the July Course, making all and staying on strongly.

Fitness has to be taken on trust, but she was not unbacked on that occasion, which is encouraging, as is the fact she beat White Witch further than Blue Bayou did at Haydock.

The significance of that is Blue Bayou was only four-and-a-half lengths behind the top-class Minding in the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh.

A literal interpretation of that form suggests Knight’s runner is a decent prospect in her own right and hopefully the market will speak in her favour.

Jim Bolger’s decision to travel Clear Cut from his Irish base for the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes looks a tip in itself.

On the face of it he is no superstar and only beat two home in the Autumn Stakes over a mile at the Dewhurst meeting, although it has to be said the winner and runner-up from that race are definitely above average.

Bolger must have seen something to think the return journey is worthwhile.

Berland has been in good nick this year and should again be thereabouts in the Racing FX Handicap.

A dry 24 hours would aid his chance, but the ground should be better than that he encountered when second at Windsor earlier this month and smart apprentice Louis Steward take a valuable 3lb off his back.

Noble Peace should take the beating in the newmarketracecourses.co.uk Conditions Stakes.

Henry Candy’s two-year-old ran a really good race on his handicap bow last time out at Pontefract when failing by a neck, and might have gone even closer to winning with a bit more luck.

Lydia’s Place is well worth a look in the Download The New Unibet Racing App Nursery Handicap at Wolverhampton.

Richard Guest’s youngster appeared to have a future in front of her when completing a hat-trick at York in July, doing extremely well in making all as her saddle slipped.

She has not been seen since, but there are some good pots on offer over the winter on the all-weather if she takes to the surface, with this £14,000 event being a case in point.

Course winner Our Thomas returns to Wetherby and holds leading claims in the Weatherbys Hamilton Wensleydale Juvenile Hurdle.

Trained by Tim Easterby, the three-year-old got off the mark at the first time of asking over hurdles when coming home well to win a maiden here, following a few capable performances in maidens on the level.
