Tested can be trusted at Tipp

TESTED has endured a slightly frustrating season to date, but can bounce back to winning ways by repeating last year’s victory in the Group Three Fairy Bridge Stakes at Tipperary on Thursday.

Dermot Weld’s charge has been beaten favourite on all three outings this term and things just haven’t worked out for her yet. She travelled like the winner on her return at Leopardstown but just couldn’t find a way past a gutsy sort in Convergence.

Six furlongs at the Curragh against some serious speedsters was too hot, and again he looked booked for victory last time at Galway only to be nabbed close home. She was probably just in front a bit too long at Ballybrit in a race which looked a touch unsatisfactory as they all finished on top of each other.

The Selkirk filly gained her finest hour with a cosy victory in this race last year and can repeat the dose.

Galway winner Laviniad has been well held at Gowran since and looks to have had her day in the sun.

A bigger threat looks to be the progressive Ainippe. She handled the step up to seven furlongs really well at Fairyhouse last month when beating a decent field. The one thing against her is a double penalty which leaves her carrying the same weight as her elders.

Weld could be set for a good night as he looks to have several leading contenders.

Lonaroo should prove the one to beat in the opening juvenile maiden. He ran a nice race when fourth on his debut at Leopardstown and looked like the type to step forward for the experience.

The danger may be the Ballydoyle newcomer A Year To Remember but the yard’s horses are renowned for needing a run.

Weld looks to have found a nice opportunity for Mulkeyya in the three-year-old plus maiden. She has some solid placed form and is entitled to win a race of this standard.

Perfect Fit, who’s the chief danger, has had plenty of chances and isn’t the most straight-forward.

Jefferson Davis scooted up on his handicap debut in a nursery at Killarney last week and looks capable of landing a nice pot now under a 5lb penalty. The premier nursery has attracted a quality field and Corstorphine, who was well supported when winning at Leopardstown maiden, looks a danger.

Tonkinese, who was fancied for the Chesham at Royal Ascot, tops the weights. He didn’t look like he was going to make an impression in that Listed contest before getting hampered but had looked a smart sort previously.

The concluding conditions race looks Listed quality and In My Pocket, who was far from disgraced at that level on his second start at Cork, looks the pick.
