LOUGHBRICKLAND motocross star Jason 'Super' Meara will be among the riders taking part in the fourth and fifth rounds of this year's Arenacross Tour at SSE Arena this weekend, which brings a feast of fast 'n' furious two-wheeled action to Belfast.

Arenacross takes the most spectacular elements of outdoor motocross racing into arenas with purpose-built dirt tracks featuring huge triple jumps, killer moguls and fast, banked corners.

Despite a spectacular wipe-out during round three in Birmingham last week, Irish MX 2 champion Meara is currently in fifth place in the Pro Lites category.

The 19-year-old Arenacross newcomer began this year's Tour as an independent rider before being recruited by Team RFX St Blazey MX and is currently hoping that the home crowd will cheer him on all the way to the winners' podium for the first time.

"I can't wait to get out in front of the crowd in Belfast," he enthuses.

"Obviously, I'll have lots of family and friends there. I try to improve every week and the best way I can thank everyone for their support is to get on the podium, so that's my aim."

Last year, Jason and his elder brother John made history by leading the MX1 and MX2 classes of the Ulster and Irish motocross championships simultaneously – and now Jason will be attempting to add an Arenacross Tour trophy to his growing collection.
