AFTER two superb victories in their last outings, Belfast Star and Ulster Rockets face further vital games this weekend with Star on the road to Galway and Rockets at home to Castleisland’s Team Denjoes American Style tomorrow.

Star put in their performance of the season so far in their National Cup 86-74 first leg home defeat of Killester but with that done and dusted the Belfast team must move on as they clash with Moycullen, a team that has been making a few waves in the men’s Premier League.

It was good to get that victory over Killester, a team that we usually do well against, but we face a new challenge this weekend and we must put the cup out of our minds,” said Star captain Fergal Toner.

“Moycullen is a good young team that is based on their successful U17 and U19 sides of the past few years.

I wouldn’t know a lot about those

lads but our young players would know them from underage competitions.

“They have got some good results and, I know, they play an up- tempo game but that will suit us.”

Ulster Rockets, meanwhile, face a Castleisland side that sit just a point behind them in Women’s Division One.

“I hope we haven’t lost the momentum of our win over NUIG because of last Sunday’s cup game being called off as we will be up against a very good Castleisland team,” said Rockets coach Breda Dick, “

“They have a lot of strong teenage players but Emma O’Connor has been a great addition to our team. Her height is very important.”
